Car
If you're traveling by car, head southeast on Route 13 from the center of Khammouane Province towards Thakhek. After approximately 30 kilometers, take a left turn onto Route 8. Continue for about 15 kilometers, where you'll see signs for Kuang Si Waterfall. Follow the signs for another 10 kilometers, and you'll arrive at the parking area for the waterfall. Parking is typically free, but ensure you arrive early to secure a good spot.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Kuang Si Waterfall via public transportation, start at the main bus station in Thakhek. Look for a bus heading to the nearby village of Ban Phon Kheng. The bus fare is typically around 20,000 LAK (approximately $2.00). Once you arrive at Ban Phon Kheng, you can hire a tuk-tuk or motorcycle taxi to take you to Kuang Si Waterfall for around 40,000 to 60,000 LAK (about $4 to $6). The ride will take about 20 minutes.
Tuk-Tuk or Motorcycle Taxi
If you are already in a nearby village or area, you can hire a tuk-tuk or motorcycle taxi directly to Kuang Si Waterfall. The cost will generally be between 40,000 to 80,000 LAK ($4 to $8) depending on your starting location. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey, as prices can vary. The ride will take about 30 minutes.
