Getting There

• Car

  From the center of Khammouane Province, head north on Route 12. Drive for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 8. Turn left onto Route 8 and continue for about 15 kilometers. Look for signs indicating the Limestone Forest Viewpoint. As you approach the viewpoint, there may be a small parking area where you can leave your car. The road is generally well-maintained, but be cautious of any roadwork or local traffic.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Limestone Forest Viewpoint via public transport, take a bus or minivan from the main bus station in Khammouane Province heading towards Thakhek. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the junction for the Limestone Forest Viewpoint, which is approximately 45 kilometers from the bus station. The fare typically ranges from 30,000 to 50,000 LAK. Once you arrive at the junction, you can either walk the remaining distance (about 3 kilometers) or hire a local tuk-tuk for a small fee (around 10,000 to 20,000 LAK) to take you directly to the viewpoint.

• Tuk-Tuk

  If you are already in the vicinity of the Limestone Forest Viewpoint, you can hire a tuk-tuk from nearby villages or local towns. Negotiate a fare with the driver before starting your journey; the cost should be around 10,000 to 30,000 LAK depending on the distance. Make sure to specify that you want to go to the Limestone Forest Viewpoint, as some drivers may not be familiar with it by name. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes from the nearest town.
