Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Luang Prabang and head south on Route 13. Continue for approximately 140 km until you reach the junction near Paksan. Turn left onto Route 10 and follow the signs for Vang Vieng. After about 30 km, you will come to the town of Vang Vieng. From Vang Vieng, follow the signs towards the Blue Lagoon area. The road is well-marked, and after about 7 km, you will arrive at Blue Lagoon 4. There may be a small parking fee at the lagoon entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Blue Lagoon 4 via public transportation, first take a bus from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng. Buses leave regularly and the journey takes about 5-6 hours. Once in Vang Vieng, you can take a tuk-tuk or rent a bicycle to reach Blue Lagoon 4, which is about 7 km from the town center. Be sure to negotiate the fare with the tuk-tuk driver before starting your trip. Expect to pay around 20,000 to 50,000 LAK for the ride.
Bicycle Rental
For a more adventurous option, consider renting a bicycle in Vang Vieng. Many shops offer bike rentals for around 20,000 LAK per day. From the town center, follow the signs towards the Blue Lagoon area, which is approximately 7 km away. The ride takes about 30-40 minutes, and you can enjoy the scenic views along the way. Ensure to bring water and snacks, as there are limited facilities on the path.
