Car
If you are driving from Phonsavan, head south on Route 13 until you reach the junction with Route 16. Turn left onto Route 16 and continue until you see signs for Vat Phou. The journey takes about 1.5 hours (approximately 65 km) and is well-signposted. Parking is available at the site but may incur a small fee.
Public Bus
From the Phakse bus station, you can take a local bus heading towards Champasak. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes and costs around 10,000 LAK. Once you reach Champasak, you will need to hire a tuk-tuk or local taxi to take you the remaining 6 km to Vat Phou, which will cost about 20,000 LAK.
Tuk-Tuk
If you are already in Champasak, tuk-tuks are readily available. You can negotiate a fare with the driver, which typically ranges from 30,000 to 50,000 LAK for a round trip to Vat Phou. Ensure to agree on a return time with your driver before setting off.
