The final approach involves a short walk along a dirt path through the jungle. There are no entrance fees or special transport costs associated with walking to the temple.

Take a local bus or songthaew (shared taxi) from Pakse or Champasak town towards Vat Phou. Get off at the KM 30 marker on the Pakse-Champasak bus route, from where motorized rickshaws can take you to the temple. Negotiate the price with the driver beforehand, a typical ride should cost around 30,000-50,000 LAK.
