Car
If you are driving from the city center of Sainyabuli, head southeast on Route 13. Continue on Route 13 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route 4. Turn left onto Route 4 and follow it for approximately 15 kilometers. Look for signs pointing to Wat Wisunarat. The temple is located a short distance off the main road, so be prepared for a small detour. There is no entrance fee to visit the temple.
Public Transportation
To reach Wat Wisunarat by public transport, take a local bus or minivan from the Sainyabuli bus station heading toward Luang Prabang. The journey takes around 1-2 hours depending on traffic. Ask the driver to drop you off at the closest stop to Wat Wisunarat. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk to the temple. You may need to pay a small fare for the bus, usually around 20,000 to 30,000 LAK (Lao Kip).
Motorbike
For those adventurous souls, renting a motorbike can be a great way to explore the area. Rent a motorbike in Sainyabuli town and head southeast on Route 13. Follow the same route as if driving a car. The ride offers beautiful views of the countryside and allows for easy stops along the way. Remember to wear a helmet and have your license with you. Rental costs typically range from 50,000 to 100,000 LAK per day.
