Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start by heading north from Vientiane on Route 13. Continue for about 150 km until you reach Vang Vieng. Once you arrive in Vang Vieng, follow the local signs towards Lusi Cave, which is located approximately 8 km northwest of the town center. You will need to take a dirt road from the main Route 13; look for signs indicating Lusi Cave. Be prepared for a rough road, and ensure your vehicle is suitable for unpaved conditions. Parking is available near the cave entrance.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Lusi Cave using public transportation, first take a bus or minivan from Vientiane to Vang Vieng. Buses frequently depart from the Southern Bus Station, and the journey takes about 4-5 hours. Once you arrive in Vang Vieng, you can hire a tuk-tuk or motorbike taxi to take you to Lusi Cave. The cost for a tuk-tuk ride is approximately 50,000 to 100,000 LAK depending on your negotiation skills and the distance. Ensure to agree on a price before starting the journey. The cave is about 8 km from Vang Vieng town.

• Motorbike Rental

  For a more adventurous option, consider renting a motorbike in Vang Vieng. There are several rental shops in town where you can rent a motorbike for about 100,000 to 150,000 LAK per day. After renting your motorbike, head northwest out of Vang Vieng on the Route 13, then take the dirt road towards Lusi Cave as described earlier. This option gives you flexibility and the chance to explore the scenic surroundings at your own pace.
