If you are traveling by car, start your journey in the capital of Xaisomboun Province, which is the town of Phonsavanh. From Phonsavanh, take Route 7 heading southeast. You will drive for approximately 30 kilometers. Look for signs directing you towards Ban Vangheau. As you approach Ban Vangheau, turn onto an unpaved road that leads directly to Tad Xangthevada. The journey will take around 1 hour depending on road conditions. Be cautious of the rough terrain and check if your vehicle is suitable for off-road travel.

To reach Tad Xangthevada using public transportation, start from Phonsavanh and take a local bus heading to Ban Vangheau. These buses typically leave from the main bus station in Phonsavanh. The bus ride may take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Ban Vangheau, you can either walk or hire a tuk-tuk to take you the rest of the way to Tad Xangthevada. The cost for the bus ride is generally around 20,000 LAK (approximately $2.00), and a tuk-tuk ride might cost an additional 30,000 to 50,000 LAK (about $3.00 to $5.00) depending on your negotiation skills.
