From Vientiane, take Route 13 south towards Pak Kading. Continue for approximately 60 km until you reach the town of Nam Leuk. Look for signs for Phou Khao Khouay National Park, located just off Route 13. The park entrance is at coordinates 93FX+QHX. The drive takes about 1.5 hours. Be aware that parking may be limited near the entrance.

From Vientiane, go to the Eastern Bus Station (Talat Sao Bus Station) and take a bus to Pak Kading. The bus ride costs around 30,000 LAK (approximately $3 USD) and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. From Pak Kading, hire a tuk-tuk to the park entrance, about 15 km away. The tuk-tuk fare should be around 50,000 LAK (approximately $5 USD).

An alternative to the bus is a shared taxi (songthaew) from Vientiane to Nam Leuk. Go to the main taxi stand in Vientiane and find a shared taxi heading south.
