Getting there

Car

If driving from Mokhotlong, head south on the A2 road towards Butha-Buthe. After approximately 30 km, turn right onto a dirt road towards the Three Cascades. Follow this road for about 10 km, watching for signs. The road can be rough, possibly requiring a 4x4 vehicle. Once you reach the parking area, the cascades are a short walk away.

Public Transport

Take a taxi or shuttle from Mokhotlong to Butha-Buthe. Taxis are usually found at the main taxi rank and leave when full. The ride takes about 1-2 hours, depending on road conditions. In Butha-Buthe, arrange for a local taxi or 4x4 vehicle to Mats'a-Mararo, as public transport is limited. Expect to pay around 150-200 Maloti for the ride; negotiate the fare in advance.

Hiking

If near the Three Cascades, you can hike from nearby accommodations or campsites. Access the trailhead through local guides who can provide direction and ensure safety. Wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry enough water. The hike typically takes about 2-3 hours, depending on your starting point and pace.
