Car
If you are driving from the center of Berea, head southeast on the main road (A2) towards the town of Thaba-Tseka. Continue on A2 for approximately 10 km. Then, take a left onto a smaller road that leads towards Makhaleng River. Follow this road for about 5 km, and you will find signage directing you to the river area. Parking is available near the riverbank.
Public Transportation (Taxi)
To reach Makhaleng via public transportation, make your way to the main taxi rank in Berea. Look for a taxi that is heading towards Thaba-Tseka. The fare is around 20 Maloti. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the turn-off for Makhaleng River. After approximately 10 km, the driver will drop you off at the junction. From there, it is a short walk (about 1 km) down the dirt road to reach the river.
Walking
If you are already near the turn-off for Makhaleng River from the main road, you can walk to the river. The path is well-trodden, and the scenic views are quite rewarding. It will take approximately 15-20 minutes to walk the 1 km down the dirt road to reach the river.
