Getting There

Walking
Start at the center of Butha-Buthe, specifically near the Butha-Buthe bus station. Head southeast on the main road, which is called 'Mokhotlong Road'. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with 'Mokhotlong Road'. At this intersection, turn left onto 'Motloang Road'. Follow this road for approximately 3 kilometers. You will pass by some local shops and schools along the way. Once you reach the area known as Motloang, look for signs pointing to Thaba Bosiu Cultural Village. The entrance to the village is located on your right. The total walking distance is about 4.5 kilometers and should take approximately 1 hour.

From the center of Butha-Buthe, head to the taxi rank, which is located near the Butha-Buthe bus station. Look for a shared taxi (taxi-bus) heading towards Motloang. Confirm with the driver that they are going to Thaba Bosiu or that they will drop you off close to it. The fare is usually very affordable. The taxi ride will take about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Ask the driver to drop you off near the entrance to Thaba Bosiu Cultural Village. Once you get out, follow the signs to the entrance of the village, which is a short walk from where you’ll be dropped off.
