Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Mafeteng, start at the Mafeteng Bus Terminal. Head southeast on Main Street until you reach the intersection with the road leading to Morija. Turn left onto this road and continue walking for approximately 4 kilometers. You will pass through several small villages along the way. Keep an eye out for local signage that indicates your direction toward Morija. Once you reach Morija, follow the signs to Bophelo Dam, which is located just a short distance from the town center. The dam is situated at the coordinates 9FHW+5VF, and you might ask locals for help if you are unsure of the exact path.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, start at the Mafeteng Bus Terminal. Head southeast on Main Street and take the left turn onto the road to Morija. This route is approximately 4 kilometers and is relatively flat, making it a pleasant ride. Be cautious of traffic, especially as you approach Morija. Upon reaching Morija, follow the local signs directing you to Bophelo Dam. The bike ride should take around 20-30 minutes, depending on your speed.

  At Mafeteng Bus Terminal, look for shared taxis (also known as 'combis') heading to Morija. The fare is usually very affordable. Inform the driver that you are going to Morija and they will drop you off in the town. From the drop-off point, you can either walk or ask for a local taxi to take you directly to Bophelo Dam, which is nearby. This option is typically quicker and allows you to relax during the journey.
