The Buddhist Monastery Letzehof, also known as Tashi Rabten, is a Gelug monastery located on the Letze hill in Frastanz, Vorarlberg. The site's history dates back centuries, having been owned by the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem and later by private owners, before Helmut Gassner, a Getzner grandson, offered it to Tibetan monks in 1981. Geshe Rabten Rinpoche, who was the founder of the monastery, was born in Tibet in 1920 and established several monasteries in European countries. The monastery provides an opportunity to experience Buddhist culture and practices in a tranquil setting. Visitors can explore the grounds, which include a stupa built in 1987 in memory of Geshe Rapte Rinpotsche, and a meditation room that is open to all during the day. The monks gather daily for meditation, and visitors are welcome to join the extensive prayer rituals that occur every two weeks. The monastery also offers weekend seminars, meditation courses, and yoga classes.
