Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Ruggell, walk to the nearest bus stop located at 'Ruggell, Bahnhof'. Catch the bus heading towards 'Vaduz'. You will need to change buses in Vaduz. Once you arrive at the Vaduz bus station, transfer to a bus that goes to 'St. Gallen', which will take you to the Swiss border. After crossing into Switzerland, get off at the stop 'St. Gallen, Bahnhof'. From there, take bus number 5 towards 'Hundwil'. It will take approximately 30 minutes to reach Hundwil. The stop you need to get off at is 'Hundwil, Dorf'. From the bus stop, follow the signs to Alpstein, which is about a 30-minute walk up the trail.

    If you prefer to walk the whole way, start from Ruggell and head towards the main road (Landstrasse). Follow the road towards the Swiss border. You’ll walk approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the border at 'Schaanwald'. Cross the border into Switzerland and continue walking towards 'Hundwil'. This route will take you along scenic paths and may take approximately 2 hours. Once in Hundwil, follow the local signs to Alpstein, which is roughly a 30-minute walk uphill from the village center.
