From major Swiss cities like Zurich or St. Gallen, take a train to Wasserauen. The Ebenalp cable car station is a short walk from the Wasserauen train station. Take the cable car to Ebenalp. From the Ebenalp mountain station, follow the marked path for approximately 15 minutes, passing through the Wildkirchli caves, to reach Berggasthaus Aescher.

For a more challenging approach, hike from Wasserauen to Berggasthaus Aescher. Follow the trail towards Seealpsee, then ascend to Aescher via a steep mountain path. This route is recommended for experienced hikers with appropriate footwear. Allow approximately 2.5 hours for the hike.

The most common approach involves taking the Ebenalp Cable Car from Wasserauen to the Ebenalp mountain station. A round-trip ticket on the Ebenalp cable car costs CHF 34 for adults. From the Ebenalp station, it is a 15-minute walk to Aescher through the Wildkirchli caves.
