From the city center (e.g., from Laisvės al. or the Town Hall), make your way to the Kaunas bus station (Kauno autobusų stotis). You can walk or take a bus to reach the station. Once at the bus station, look for buses heading towards Noreikiškės or Šiltnamių g. Bus line 32 is a good option. Board the bus and enjoy the ride, which should take approximately 30 minutes. Disembark at the stop for Šiltnamių g. From there, walk approximately 1.5 kilometers straight along Šiltnamių g. following the road signs towards the 1st Fort of Kaunas Fortress. The fortress will be on your right as you approach.

Walking
If you prefer to walk from the city center, start at the main pedestrian street, Laisvės alėja. Head northeast until you reach the intersection with Maironio street. Turn left onto Maironio street and continue straight until you reach the bus station (Kauno autobusų stotis). From the bus station, follow the same route as mentioned above or continue walking straight towards Noreikiškės via Šiltnamių g. This route is approximately 6 kilometers and should take around 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, you can cycle from the city center to the 1st Fort. Start on Laisvės alėja and head northeast towards the bus station (Kauno autobusų stotis). From there, take the bike path that leads towards Noreikiškės. Follow the signs for Šiltnamių g. The distance is about 6 kilometers, and it should take around 20-25 minutes to reach the fortress by bike.
