If you're driving from anywhere in the Atchafalaya Basin, start by getting onto Interstate 10 (I-10) East. Follow the signs for Baton Rouge. Continue on I-10 for about 70 miles until you reach the exit for LA-1 N towards Baton Rouge. Merge onto LA-1 N and continue for about 10 miles. Take the exit toward US-61 N / Airline Hwy. Merge onto US-61 N and continue for approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto North Blvd, and after about 0.5 miles, you will see Louisiana's Old State Capitol on your right at 100 North Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70801.

To reach Louisiana's Old State Capitol using public transportation, first check for local bus service options operating in the Atchafalaya Basin. You may need to take a bus that heads toward Baton Rouge. Once in Baton Rouge, use the CATS Bus (Capital Area Transit System). Board the bus that goes towards downtown Baton Rouge. Get off at the stop closest to the Louisiana State Capitol, and from there, it is just a short walk to 100 North Blvd. Follow North Blvd until you reach the Old State Capitol, which will be on your right.
