From downtown Baton Rouge, you can take the Capital Area Transit System (CATS) bus. Head to the nearest bus stop and catch the Route 44 bus, which travels northbound. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes. Once you reach the stop at Thomas Road and North Foster Drive, disembark. From there, walk east on Thomas Road for about 0.5 miles until you see the entrance to BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo on your left.

Bicycle
If you prefer to bike, start from the downtown area and head north on North Boulevard, which will turn into North 4th Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with North Foster Drive. Turn left and continue to Thomas Road. Turn right on Thomas Road and ride for about 1 mile. The zoo will be on your left. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules.

If you're feeling adventurous and are starting from the downtown area, you can walk to the zoo. Head north on North Boulevard, go past the State Capitol building, and continue on North 4th Street. After about 1.5 miles, turn left onto North Foster Drive and then right onto Thomas Road. Walk about 0.5 miles, and you will see BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo on your left. This route will take you through some local neighborhoods, so enjoy the sights along the way!
