Car

If you are driving from anywhere in Northshore, start by heading south on US-190 E. Continue for approximately 20 miles until you reach the Causeway Bridge. Once you cross the bridge, merge onto I-10 E toward New Orleans. After about 5 miles, take exit 234A for Metairie Rd. Follow Metairie Rd until you reach Lakeshore Dr. Turn left onto Lakeshore Dr and continue for about 1 mile. The New Canal Lighthouse will be on your right at 8001 Lakeshore Dr, New Orleans, LA 70124. There is free parking available near the lighthouse.
Public Transportation

If you prefer to use public transportation, take the RTA bus #55 (Elysian Fields) from various locations in Northshore to the nearest transit hub in Metairie. From there, transfer to bus #16 (Metairie Road) which will take you to Lakeshore Dr. After disembarking, walk approximately 0.5 miles east along Lakeshore Dr to reach the New Canal Lighthouse at 8001 Lakeshore Dr, New Orleans, LA 70124. Be sure to check the RTA schedule for bus timings as they may vary. A one-way fare on the bus is $1.25.
