If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Ambalavao, which is approximately 13 km away from Anja Community Reserve. Head southwest on Route Nationale 7 (RN7) towards the village of Anja. After about 12 km, take the exit towards Anja Community Reserve. You will find signs directing you to the reserve. The entrance is located at the coordinates -21.8509645, 46.8419219. Ensure you have a map or GPS enabled as the last segment may have limited signage.

For public transportation, take a taxi-brousse from Ambalavao to Anja. These shared vans leave regularly from the taxi-brousse station in Ambalavao. The fare is generally around 2,000 to 3,000 Ariary (approximately $0.50 to $0.75). The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the drop-off point near the entrance of Anja Community Reserve, it’s a short walk to the reserve. Be sure to confirm with the driver that they will drop you off at Anja.
