Car
If you are driving from Morondava, head south on the RN35 highway towards Toliara. After approximately 120 km, turn left onto the M972 road. Continue on M972 for about 40 km until you reach the entrance of Mikea National Park, located at coordinates -22.3374906, 43.3510018. Ensure you have a GPS or a reliable map app to assist you, as signage can be limited. Also, be mindful of road conditions as they may vary.
Public Transportation
You can take a taxi-brousse (shared taxi) from Morondava to Toliara. The fare is usually around 30,000 MGA (Malagasy Ariary) and the journey takes about 3-4 hours. Once in Toliara, you will need to hire a private taxi or arrange for a local guide to take you to Mikea National Park. Expect to pay around 50,000 MGA for the taxi ride, which will take about 1-1.5 hours. Make sure to confirm the cost before starting your journey.
