Getting There

    If you are traveling by car, start from Toliara (Tuléar), which is the nearest major city to Tsimanampetsotse National Park. Head southwest on Route Nationale 9 (RN9) towards the town of Ifaty. After approximately 30 km, you will reach the town of Ifaty. From Ifaty, continue on the dirt road leading towards the park entrance. This road can be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. The park entrance is about 10 km from Ifaty. Be sure to pay the entrance fee at the park gate, which is approximately 20,000 MGA per person. After entering, follow the marked trails to explore the park.

  • Public Transportation

    For those traveling by public transportation, take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from Toliara to Ifaty. The taxi-brousse station is located in Toliara. The fare is usually around 5,000 MGA per person. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Ifaty, you can either walk or hire a local taxi to take you to the park entrance, which is about 10 km away. Make sure to confirm the price of the taxi before starting your journey, as it can vary. Expect to pay around 10,000 MGA for the ride to the park entrance.
