Private Car
If you are traveling by private car, start from the Isalo National Park entrance near Ranohira. Head east on Route National 7 (RN7) for about 15 kilometers. Look for signs indicating 'Botanic Park' or 'Jardin Botanique.' You will turn left onto a smaller road just before reaching Ranohira. Continue on this road for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the Botanic Park located at 99Q5+8FQ, Ranohira. Make sure to keep your vehicle fueled as fuel stations are limited in this area.
Public Transportation
To reach Botanic Park via public transportation, you will need to take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from Ranohira. First, make your way to the taxi-brousse station in Ranohira, which is situated near the town center. Look for a taxi-brousse heading towards the direction of Isalo National Park. The fare should be around 2,000-4,000 Ariary (approximately $0.50 - $1.00). Once you reach the area close to the Botanic Park, it may be necessary to walk or hire a local guide to navigate the last part of the journey as public transport does not go directly to the park.
Walking
If you are already within walking distance from Ranohira, you can walk to Botanic Park. From the town center, head southeast towards Route National 7 (RN7). Once you reach RN7, walk approximately 3 kilometers before turning left onto the small road that leads to Botanic Park. The walk is scenic, but be prepared for a bit of a hike. Ensure to wear appropriate footwear and bring water along.
