After about 30 kilometers, you will reach the intersection where the RN5 branches off. Take the left fork to continue on RN5 towards Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. The total drive will take approximately 6-7 hours, depending on road conditions. Be mindful of road quality; some parts may be unpaved or under construction. Fuel stations may be scarce, so fill up in Maroantsetra before leaving.

To travel by public transportation, first, make your way to the nearest taxi-brousse station in Maroantsetra. Look for a taxi-brousse heading to Antananarivo or Andasibe. The journey to Andasibe will require a change in Antananarivo. Expect to pay around 25,000 Ariary ($6.50 USD) for the taxi-brousse to Antananarivo. Once in Antananarivo, transfer to another taxi-brousse heading to Andasibe, which will cost approximately 10,000 Ariary ($2.50 USD). The total travel time can take up to 10 hours, so plan for a long day of travel. Be prepared for varying comfort levels in the vehicles.

Combination of Car and Taxi-Brousse
For those who prefer a mix of transportation modes, you can drive to Maroantsetra and then take a taxi-brousse from there. This allows you to avoid the more challenging road conditions. Drive to Maroantsetra (approximately 30 kilometers), park your car securely, and take a taxi-brousse to Antananarivo. From Antananarivo, transfer to another taxi-brousse heading to Andasibe. The taxi-brousse fare from Maroantsetra to Antananarivo is around 25,000 Ariary ($6.50 USD) and from Antananarivo to Andasibe, it is about 10,000 Ariary ($2.50 USD).
