Fuel stations may be scarce, so fill up in Maroantsetra before leaving.

    To travel by public transportation, first, make your way to the nearest taxi-brousse station in Maroantsetra. Look for a taxi-brousse heading to Antananarivo or Andasibe. The journey to Andasibe will require a change in Antananarivo. Expect to pay around 25,000 Ariary ($6.50 USD) for the taxi-brousse to Antananarivo. Once in Antananarivo, transfer to another taxi-brousse heading to Andasibe, which will cost approximately 10,000 Ariary ($2.50 USD).
