If you are driving from Morondava, head east on Route Nationale 35 (RN35) towards Antananarivo. After approximately 90 km, take the exit towards Route 26 and continue for about 12 km. Look for signs directing you to Réserve spéciale d'Andranomena. The entrance is just off the main road, and you may need to pay a small entrance fee, typically around 10,000 MGA (Malagasy Ariary). Ensure you have cash ready as card payments may not be accepted.
Public Transportation
To reach Réserve spéciale d'Andranomena via public transport, start by taking a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from Morondava to Antananarivo. The journey will take about 12-14 hours, so be prepared for a long ride. Once in Antananarivo, transfer to a taxi-brousse heading towards Morondava again. Inform the driver that you want to stop at Réserve spéciale d'Andranomena. The fare for the taxi-brousse should be approximately 20,000 MGA. Upon arrival, you might need to walk about 1 km to the entrance of the reserve.
