Getting There

    From Ranomafana National Park, head northeast towards the Route Nationale 25. Continue on Route Nationale 25 for approximately 12 km until you reach the town of Ambohimena. Look for signs indicating Parc Ivoloina. Turn right when you see the sign, and follow the road for another 5 km until you arrive at the entrance of Parc Ivoloina. Make sure to have some cash on hand for entrance fees, which are usually around 10,000 MGA (about $3).

    From Ranomafana National Park, take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) heading towards Fianarantsoa from the main road. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Ambohimena. The fare should be around 2,000 MGA (about $0.60). Once you arrive in Ambohimena, you can either walk or take a local taxi to Parc Ivoloina, which is about 5 km away. The walking path is well-trodden, but it’s advisable to hire a local guide if you're unfamiliar with the area.

    If you're already near the entrance to Parc Ivoloina, you can walk there directly from your accommodation in Ranomafana. The trail is approximately 5 km and takes about an hour to walk. Follow the main path leading out of the park and look for the signs guiding you towards Parc Ivoloina. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the walk can be moderately strenuous.
