This scenic highway takes you through beautiful landscapes, including the town of Antananarivo, the fertile highlands, and the charming town of Ambositra. After approximately 400 kilometers and around 8-10 hours of driving, you will reach the town of Fianarantsoa. From Fianarantsoa, continue south on RN7 for about 60 kilometers until you reach the town of Ranomafana. Look for signs leading to the national park entrance. Parking is available at the park entrance for a small fee, typically around 2,000 MGA (Malagasy Ariary).

To reach Ranomafana using public transportation, start from Antananarivo. You can take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from the main bus station to Fianarantsoa. The journey will take approximately 10-12 hours, and tickets usually cost around 30,000 MGA. Once you arrive in Fianarantsoa, you can catch another taxi-brousse heading towards Ranomafana. This second leg of the journey will take about 1-2 hours and costs approximately 10,000 MGA. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of Ranomafana National Park.

Once you've arrived at the entrance of Ranomafana National Park, you may need to walk to your accommodation or the visitor center if you haven't arranged for transportation. The park entrance is located at coordinates -21.2259323, 47.3860516. Depending on where you stay, you might be able to walk to nearby lodges or guesthouses within 15-30 minutes. Be sure to carry water and wear comfortable footwear, as the terrain can be uneven.
