    From Sofia, you will need to drive to Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar. This journey is approximately 1,500 kilometers and can take around 20-25 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. Once in Antananarivo, take Route Nationale 2 (RN2) heading east towards Toamasina. After approximately 300 kilometers, you will reach Toamasina. From Toamasina, continue on RN2 until you reach the turn-off for Route Nationale 5 (RN5) towards Maroantsetra. This final leg is about 120 kilometers. Once you arrive in Maroantsetra, you will need to take a boat to reach Masoala National Park, as it is only accessible via water. Be prepared for additional costs for the boat ride, which can vary. It is advisable to arrange this in advance through local tour operators.

    From Sofia, take a flight to Antananarivo. Once you arrive in Antananarivo, you can take a taxi-brousse (shared taxi) to Toamasina, which is a popular method of public transport in Madagascar.
