Getting There

Walking
From the Hulls Cove Visitor Center, head south on Route 3, following the signs toward Bar Harbor. After about 1 mile, you will reach the intersection with the Park Loop Road. Continue straight, entering the Park Loop Road. Follow the Park Loop Road for approximately 2 miles until you reach the Sand Beach parking area. Note that this area can get crowded, so arrive early if possible. From Sand Beach, take the trail that leads eastward toward Boulder Beach. The trail is well-marked and takes you through beautiful coastal scenery. After about 1/2 mile, you will reach Boulder Beach, which is a rocky beach known for its stunning views and is a great spot for photography and relaxation.

Biking
If you have access to a bike, you can start from the Bar Harbor Town Common. Head towards the Park Loop Road via West Street, which will connect you to the main park road. Turn onto the Park Loop Road and ride south towards Sand Beach. The ride is approximately 2.5 miles and offers beautiful views along the way. Once you reach Sand Beach, dismount and take the walking trail that leads east towards Boulder Beach. This trail is approximately 1/2 mile and will take you directly to Boulder Beach.
