Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main visitor center at Acadia National Park, head south on Route 3 towards Bar Harbor. After approximately 0.5 miles, take a right onto Main Street and continue for about 0.4 miles. You will come to a bus stop for the Island Explorer shuttle. Take the shuttle towards the Bar Harbor Village Green. Once you arrive at the Village Green, transfer to the Route 1 shuttle heading towards the College of the Atlantic. Disembark at the stop for Higgins Farm Road. From there, walk north on Higgins Farm Road for about 0.2 miles, and you will reach the entrance to Indian Point Blagden Preserve.

  • Biking

    If you have access to a bike, start at the Acadia National Park visitor center. Bike south on Route 3, following the bike lane. After about 1 mile, take a right onto Main Street. Continue for approximately 0.5 miles until you reach the Village Green, where you can pick up the Island Explorer shuttle. Alternatively, you can bike directly to Higgins Farm Road, which is approximately 2.5 miles from the visitor center. Head north on Higgins Farm Road for about 0.2 miles, and you’ll arrive at the Indian Point Blagden Preserve.

  • Public Transit

    Start at the Acadia National Park visitor center and walk to the nearest Island Explorer shuttle bus stop. Board the shuttle heading towards Bar Harbor Village Green and ride for about 10 minutes. Once at the Village Green, transfer to the Route 1 shuttle, which will take you to Higgins Farm Road. Get off at the designated stop and walk approximately 0.2 miles north on Higgins Farm Road to reach Indian Point Blagden Preserve.
