Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the main entrance to Acadia National Park at Hulls Cove Visitor Center, begin your journey by heading south on the Park Loop Road. After about 1.5 miles, you will reach the intersection with the road leading to the Wild Gardens of Acadia. The gardens are located near the Sieur de Monts area of the park. Turn left and follow the path which will lead you to the entrance of the Wild Gardens of Acadia. The gardens are open from 9 AM to 6 PM, so plan your visit accordingly.

Biking
If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the rental services in Bar Harbor. Start from the center of Bar Harbor and ride towards the Park Loop Road. Follow the same route as walking; head towards the Hulls Cove Visitor Center and then take a left onto the road that leads to the Wild Gardens of Acadia. The bike ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes from Bar Harbor, and you can enjoy the scenic views along the way.

Public Transport (Island Explorer)
From the center of Bar Harbor, you can take the Island Explorer shuttle bus, which is free and operates during the summer months. Board the bus that is heading towards the Acadia National Park routes, specifically the one that stops at the Sieur de Monts area. Once you arrive at the Sieur de Monts stop, it's a short walk to the Wild Gardens of Acadia. Be sure to check the shuttle schedule for the latest times.
