    From Biddeford, head to the nearest bus stop along Main Street. You can catch the Metro Bus Route 1 heading towards Portland. Make sure to board the bus that has 'Portland' displayed on the front. Stay on the bus for about 30-35 minutes until you reach the 'Maine Mall' stop in South Portland. Once you get off, transfer to the South Portland Bus Route 21, which is heading towards Cape Elizabeth. Ride this bus for approximately 15 minutes until you arrive at the 'Portland Head Light' stop. From there, it is a short walk to the lighthouse.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Biddeford. Start by taking the Eastern Trail heading north from Biddeford. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with Route 77. Turn right onto Route 77 and continue south. After about 6 miles, you will arrive at Cape Elizabeth. Follow the signs to Portland Head Light, which is located within Fort Williams Park.

    If you enjoy walking and are up for a longer trek, you can start from downtown Biddeford and head east along Main Street towards the Eastern Trail. Continue on the trail until you reach the intersection with Route 77. Turn right onto Route 77 and walk south for approximately 6 miles. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Fort Williams Park. Once you arrive at the park, follow the pathways to reach the iconic Portland Head Light.
