Car

If you are driving, start from downtown Portland, Maine. Head south on Congress Street toward Franklin Arterial. Take a right onto Franklin Arterial and follow it until you merge onto I-295 S. Continue on I-295 S for about 2 miles. Take exit 2A for Franklin Street toward US-1 S. Follow Franklin Street until it turns into Commercial Street. Continue along Commercial Street until you reach the end of the road, where you can see the entrance to the East End Beach. From there, follow the shoreline to the south, passing through various parks, until you reach Ottawa Ave. Fort Levett will be located on your left, just past a small residential area. There is no parking fee, but be aware of local parking regulations.
Public Transportation

To reach Fort Levett using public transportation, start at the Portland Transportation Center. Take the METRO Bus route 1 (Maine Mall) towards the Maine Mall. Ride to the stop at 'Commercial St + Eastern Promenade'. From there, walk south along the Eastern Promenade until you reach the intersection with Ottawa Ave. Turn left onto Ottawa Ave, and Fort Levett will be located on your right. Make sure to check the METRO Bus schedule for current times and possible fare costs.
Bicycle

If you choose to bike to Fort Levett, start from downtown Portland and take the Eastern Promenade Trail. This scenic route will take you along the waterfront, providing a beautiful view of Casco Bay. Continue on the trail until you reach Ottawa Ave, then turn left. Fort Levett will be on your right. The ride is approximately 2 miles and is mostly flat, making it suitable for all biking levels.
