Getting There

Walking from Bar Harbor
Start at the Bar Harbor Village Green. Head east on Main Street, then take a left onto Eden Street (Route 3). Continue straight, passing the Acadia National Park Visitor Center on your right. Once you reach the intersection with Route 233, continue straight onto Route 3. Follow Route 3 for about 12 miles until you reach the junction with Tidal Falls Road. Turn left onto Tidal Falls Road and walk approximately 0.5 miles until you arrive at Tidal Falls Preserve.

Biking from Acadia National Park
Begin your journey at the Carriage Roads within Acadia National Park. Use the routes that connect to Route 3 and head towards Hancock. Once you reach Route 3, follow the road towards the east. After about 12 miles, watch for Tidal Falls Road on your left. Turn onto Tidal Falls Road and bike for about 0.5 miles until you reach the preserve. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all biking safety rules.

If you are in Bar Harbor, you can take the Island Explorer shuttle bus to the village of Hancock. Check the current schedule for the Island Explorer to ensure there is a stop at Hancock. Once you disembark at Hancock, you can walk approximately 1 mile to Tidal Falls Preserve by heading southwest on Main Street, then turning left onto Tidal Falls Road. Continue walking straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the preserve.
