Getting There

• Bus

  From Brunswick, head to the nearest bus stop located on Maine Street. Take the Metro bus line towards Portland. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Portland, disembark at the 'Maine Mall' stop and transfer to the #1 bus towards 'Downtown Portland'. Get off at the 'Congress St + Park St' stop. From there, walk east on Congress Street until you reach the intersection with Monument Square. The Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Monument is located in the square.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local bike rental shops in Brunswick. Start by cycling south on Maine Street towards the Androscoggin River. Follow the bike paths along the river until you reach the bike trail that leads directly to Portland. Continue along the trail for about 12 miles, following the signs toward downtown Portland. Once you arrive, navigate towards Congress Street and head east until you reach Monument Square, where the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Monument is located.

  For an adventurous walk, you can head south on Maine Street out of Brunswick. Follow the pedestrian paths along Route 1 South for approximately 12 miles. The walk will take about 4 hours, so plan accordingly. When you reach Portland, continue walking towards downtown. Head towards Congress Street and walk east until you see Monument Square. The Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Monument is situated there.
