From any location in the Western Maine Mountains, head towards ME-26 S. Continue on ME-26 S until you reach the intersection with ME-2 E. Take ME-2 E towards Bethel. As you drive through the picturesque landscapes, follow ME-2 E for approximately 35 miles. When you reach the town of Augusta, keep left to merge onto I-95 S toward Portland. Stay on I-95 S for about 7 miles. Take exit 109A for Western Avenue toward ME-202 E. Continue on Western Avenue, then turn left onto State Street. The Maine State Museum will be on your right at 230 State St, Augusta, ME 04330. Parking is available nearby.
