After approximately 3 kilometers, take a left turn onto a dirt road leading to Thumbi Island. Continue along this road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the parking area. From here, you may need to walk a short distance to the viewpoint.

To reach Thumbi View Point using public transport, start at the main bus stop in Cape Maclear. Take a minibus heading to Monkey Bay. Inform the driver that you are heading to the Thumbi Island area. The fare is typically around 500 MWK. Once you reach the drop-off point near Thumbi Island, you will need to walk approximately 1 kilometer along a dirt path to reach the viewpoint. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain can be uneven.

An alternative method to get to Thumbi View Point is by boat. Arrange a boat ride from Cape Maclear to Thumbi Island. The boat ride takes about 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive, you can walk to the viewpoint, which is about a 20-minute trek from the beach.
