Car
From Chinteche, head south on the M5 road towards Mzuzu. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach a junction where you need to take the left turn onto the road leading to Mzuzu. Continue for about 10 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Mzuzu Dam, which is located at H265+C98, 1000 Dam Road. The road is well-marked, and you can ask locals for directions if needed. There is no entry fee to access the dam area.
Public Transportation
To travel by public transportation, first, find a minibus or shared taxi heading to Mzuzu from Chinteche. The fare is usually around 500 MWK. Once you arrive in Mzuzu, you can take another minibus or taxi to reach the dam. Ask to be dropped off at '1000 Dam Road.' The dam is about 5 kilometers from the city center, and the fare should not exceed 200 MWK. Ensure you confirm the return schedule with the driver.
Walking
If you find yourself in Mzuzu city center and want to walk to Mzuzu Dam, head north on the main road. The dam is approximately 5 kilometers away. Follow the road signs directing you towards '1000 Dam Road.' It’s advisable to walk during daylight hours for safety.
