If you are traveling by car, head towards the town of Mangochi from your location around Lake Malawi. From Mangochi, take the M4 road towards Balaka. After about 40 kilometers, look for signs directing you to the Vipya Mountains, which will be accessible via a dirt road. The final stretch may be rough and requires careful driving. Ensure you have a reliable vehicle, preferably a 4x4, to handle the terrain.

To reach Vipya Mountains by public transport, take a minibus from your location to Mangochi. Once in Mangochi, you can catch another minibus heading towards Balaka. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the turn-off for Vipya Mountains. The fare from your location to Mangochi is approximately MWK 1,000-2,000, and from Mangochi to the turn-off is around MWK 500-1,000. After disembarking, you will need to walk approximately 5-10 kilometers, or find a local taxi to take you directly to the mountains.
