Car
If you are traveling by car within Liwonde National Park, start by heading towards the main entrance of the park. From there, take the main road that leads south towards Zomba. Keep an eye out for the signs indicating the route to the Bwaila River. After approximately 20 kilometers, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork which leads to Zakazaka. Continue for another 5 kilometers until you arrive at the area marked with the coordinates J82C+HJW. The road may be rough in some places, so drive carefully.

Public Transportation
To reach Bwaila River via public transportation, first, make your way to the nearest bus station in Liwonde. Board a minibus heading towards Zomba. The fare is typically around MK 2,000 (Malawi Kwacha). Inform the driver that you wish to get off at Zakazaka. Once you arrive in Zakazaka, you may need to walk approximately 1 kilometer to reach the river, following local paths. It's advisable to ask locals for directions to ensure you stay on the right track.
