Getting There

Start at the Mangochi Town Centre, which is a common meeting point. From there, head south on the main road (M3) towards the direction of the lake. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass by several local shops and markets on your right. Keep an eye out for the signposts that indicate you are heading towards the Bakili Muluzi Bridge. After approximately 20 minutes of walking, you will see the bridge ahead on your left. Cross the road to get to the viewing area near the bridge for the best views.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can rent one in Mangochi Town. From your rental location, cycle south on the M3 road. The route is approximately 1.5 kilometers and will take about 10 minutes. Along the way, enjoy the scenery of local shops and the vibrant atmosphere of the town. Once you reach the bridge, park your bicycle in a safe spot near the viewing area and take in the views of the river and surrounding mountains.

Head to the nearby minibus station in the Mangochi Town Centre. Look for a minibus that is headed towards the area of the Bakili Muluzi Bridge. The fare is usually affordable, around 500 to 1000 MWK. Once you are on the bus, inform the driver of your destination. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes. Once you arrive, you will be close to the bridge, and you can walk the remaining distance (approximately 200 meters) to reach the bridge.
