Car

If you're traveling by car, start by navigating to the town of Mulanje. From the center of Mulanje, head southeast on the main road (M1) towards Mulanje Mountain. After approximately 10 km, turn left onto a smaller road heading towards the Mulanje Massif. Continue on this road for about 5 km until you reach the Hikers' Nest, located at coordinates -15.9395667, 35.4968319. There is a sign indicating the lodge as you approach. Make sure to check your vehicle's condition as some roads can be rough.

Public Transportation

To reach Hikers' Nest using public transportation, first take a minibus or shared taxi from Blantyre to Mulanje town. The fare typically ranges from 1,500 to 3,000 MWK depending on the vehicle. Once in Mulanje, look for a local taxi or a minibus heading towards Mulanje Mountain. The fare for this leg is about 500 MWK. Inform the driver that you wish to go to Hikers' Nest, and they will drop you off close to the lodge. Be attentive to the surroundings as it can be easy to miss the turn-off.
