From the center of Viphya Mountains, head towards Nkhata Bay on the Mzuzu-Nkhata Bay Road (A1). This scenic route will take you through lush landscapes. Drive for approximately 45 kilometers until you reach the town of Nkhata Bay. Once in Nkhata Bay, follow the signs towards Kantchindu. Take the road leading to Kamwadi. After about 10 kilometers on the Kamwadi road, you will see signs directing you to Kantchindu Cottage, which is located near Lake Malawi. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition, as some parts of the road may be rough.

To reach Kantchindu Cottage using public transport, start by taking a minibus from Viphya Mountains to Nkhata Bay. Minibuses frequently depart from designated stops. The fare is approximately 1,500 MWK per person. Once you arrive in Nkhata Bay, you can hire a local taxi or arrange for a motorcycle taxi to take you to Kantchindu. The taxi ride will cost around 5,000 MWK, and it will take about 20 minutes to reach the cottage. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.
