    If you're traveling by car, start from Zomba City. Head south on the M1 highway towards Liwonde. After approximately 30 kilometers, you'll reach a junction. Take the right turn towards Liwonde. Continue on this road for about 10 kilometers until you reach an intersection near Liwonde National Park. Turn left at the intersection and follow the road for another 5 kilometers. Mawila Lodge is located on an unnamed road on your left side. Look for the sign indicating the lodge.

    To reach Mawila Lodge via public transportation, take a minibus from Zomba City to Liwonde. The journey takes about 45 minutes and costs around 1,500 MWK. Once you arrive in Liwonde, you'll need to hire a taxi or a motorcycle taxi (locally known as 'piki piki') to take you to Mawila Lodge. The taxi ride from Liwonde town to the lodge will cost approximately 2,000 - 3,000 MWK and takes about 15-20 minutes. Make sure to inform the driver that your destination is Mawila Lodge, located on an unnamed road off the main road.

    If you are dropped off near the entrance to Liwonde National Park, you can walk to Mawila Lodge. From the park entrance, walk along the unnamed road for about 1.5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to the lodge. The walk should take around 20-25 minutes, and it’s advisable to ask locals for directions if you're uncertain.
