Getting There

Car
From Zomba Plateau, head northwest on the M3 road towards the city of Blantyre. After about 23 km, take the exit onto the M1 road towards Lilongwe. Continue for approximately 30 km until you reach the junction with the M5 road. Turn left onto the M5 road following signs for Chitipa. Continue on the M5 for about 80 km. Look for signs indicating the turn-off to Nyika National Park and follow the road until you reach the entrance of Nyika Plateau. Please note that a park entry fee may be required.

Public Transportation
From Zomba, take a minibus taxi to Blantyre (this typically costs around 500 MWK). Upon arrival in Blantyre, transfer to another minibus heading towards Chitipa. Make sure to inform the driver of your destination, as some minibuses may not go directly to Nyika Plateau. The trip from Blantyre to the nearest point to Nyika can take several hours. Once you reach the closest stop, you may need to hire a local taxi or arrange for a motorbike taxi to take you to the park entrance. Be prepared for additional costs for this part, which can range from 2000 MWK to 5000 MWK depending on the distance.
