If you're starting in Kuching, Sarawak, take the Pan Borneo Highway (Federal Route 1) heading north for about 600 km. Follow the signs toward Miri. Once you reach Miri, continue to follow signs for Mulu National Park (located approximately 90 km from Miri). You will eventually turn onto the Mulu Road, which leads directly to the park entrance. Note that the road conditions can vary, and you may encounter some unpaved sections. Be sure to fill up on fuel in Miri, as there are limited services along the way.

Public Transportation - Bus
From Kuching, you can take a bus to Miri. Buses depart regularly from the Kuching Sentral bus terminal. The journey takes about 12-14 hours, and it is best to book a night bus for convenience. Once in Miri, you can find local transportation options, like taxis or ride-sharing services, to take you to the Mulu National Park entrance. Expect to pay around RM 200-250 for a taxi ride from Miri to Mulu.

For a quicker option, you can take a flight from Kuching to Mulu. Airlines like MASwings offer flights that take about 1 hour. After arriving at Mulu Airport, you can take a short taxi ride to the park entrance. Be sure to check flight schedules in advance, as they can be limited. The cost for a one-way flight typically ranges from RM 150-250.

If you are in the vicinity of Mulu, you can opt for a boat ride. From the nearest jetty on the river (like the one at Kuala Lumpur), you can take a longboat, which will take you through the stunning rainforest scenery to the park.
