If you are starting from the famous Komtar building, head north on Jalan Penang towards Jalan Magazine. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Lebuh Chulia. Turn right onto Lebuh Chulia and walk until you reach Lebuh Farquhar. The Penang State Museum and Art Gallery will be on your left, at the intersection of Lebuh Farquhar and Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah.

From the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion (The Blue Mansion), exit the mansion and turn left onto Lebuh Leith. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah. Turn right onto Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah and continue walking until you reach Lebuh Farquhar. The museum will be on your right.

If you are at Fort Cornwallis, exit the fort and head southwest towards the waterfront. Walk along the Esplanade until you reach Lebuh Farquhar. Turn left onto Lebuh Farquhar, and the Penang State Museum and Art Gallery will be on your left.
