Start from the Kota Bharu Town Centre. Head towards Jalan Sultan Muhammad and walk straight until you reach the intersection with Jalan Kebun Sultan. Turn left onto Jalan Kebun Sultan and continue walking until you reach the bus terminal. From the bus terminal, catch a bus heading to Tumpat, which is located about 20 kilometers away. Inform the bus driver that you wish to get off at Kampung Jambu, which is the closest stop to the Wat Phothivihan. Once you arrive at Kampung Jambu, walk straight along the main road for about 10 minutes until you see the entrance to Wat Phothivihan on your right.

If you're renting a bicycle, start at the Kota Bharu Town Centre and follow the same route as for walking. Cycle along Jalan Sultan Muhammad, then turn left onto Jalan Kebun Sultan.
