Getting There

Walking

If you are starting from the Kota Bharu Bus Station, exit the station and head southeast on Jalan Sultan Ismail. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Jalan Tengku Seri Akar. Turn right onto Jalan Tengku Seri Akar and walk straight for approximately 500 meters. The Istana Balai Besar will be on your left, marked by its grand architecture.
Walking

From the Kota Bharu Central Market (Pasar Besar Siti Khadijah), exit the market and head northwest on Jalan Kebun Sultan towards Jalan Sultan. After about 300 meters, turn left onto Jalan Sultan and continue walking straight for another 400 meters. Turn right onto Jalan Tengku Seri Akar. Walk for about 300 meters, and you will see Istana Balai Besar on your left.
Bicycle

Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops near the Kota Bharu Bus Station. Head south on Jalan Sultan Ismail for about 1 kilometer, then take a right onto Jalan Tengku Seri Akar.
